The 0 amplifies whatever stands beside it, and here it stands beside the number of starts.
Seasons of 1010 tend to find people between definitions: after the ending, before the new shape; qualified for the old life, curious about an unnamed one. The pattern is read as encouragement to treat the blankness as material rather than absence.
