Karmic debt and karmic lessons

The four debt numbers, the missing-digit lessons, and what these labels actually mean.

Two different ideas share the word karmic, and conflating them muddles both. Karmic debts appear in your date-and-name arithmetic; karmic lessons appear in what your name leaves out.

Karmic debt numbers: 13, 14, 16, 19

When a core calculation passes through 13, 14, 16 or 19 on its way to a single digit, tradition flags the total as a karmic debt. Each has a theme: 13 is work that cannot be shortcut, 14 is freedom that must be managed rather than consumed, 16 is a rebuilt relationship with pride, and 19 is self-reliance learned by receiving too little help or asking for none. A debt is read as extra weight on that number's lesson, not as a punishment. The digit still behaves like itself; it simply charges more tuition.

Karmic lessons: the missing digits

Convert every letter of your name to its digit and count what appears. Any digit from 1 to 9 that never occurs is a karmic lesson: an energy the name does not supply, which life then arranges opportunities to practise. Most names carry one to three. The companion figure, the Subconscious Self, is nine minus your number of missing digits and reads as composure under surprise.
