Chinese numerology gives every person a Kua number, computed from the birth year, and every year a ruling star from the Lo Shu cycle. Each answers to one of the five elements, and the relationship between your element and the year’s element sets the flavour of the season: fed, matched, drained, commanded or pressed.
The calculator returns your Kua number with its group and favourable directions from the Eight Mansions school, the current year’s ruling star, and the classical reading of how the two elements treat each other this year.
How it works
Your birth year reduces to the Kua number (the formula differs by gender). The annual star is eleven minus the reduced year, cycling 9 to 1. The five-element cycle between the two gives the forecast.
