The 14th gives the 5’s appetite with the karmic debt of 14 attached: excess teaches, usually by invoice. These people are magnetic, adaptable and drawn to the edge of everything; moderation is not their instinct, which is exactly why it is their lesson.

Five is usually sold as the wild free spirit. The older tradition is more interesting: 5 is mind above the elements, the human number, the one that stays clear-headed while everything moves. Its appetite for experience is real, but the point of the appetite is understanding, not consumption.
